Join us for Shabbat Services (Friendly, Inclusive, Lots of Discussion)-All are Welcome

We are a small congregation with a lot of heart.  Services are egalitarian.  ALL are welcome to participate and ALL are counted.  Our services lead by Rabbi Israel Man and are traditional with Hebrew and English readings.  Make Beth Zion your new Tradition.

Special thank you to those brave souls who helped put up the sukkah in the pouring rain.  I’m sure it was easier in the dessert!

Thanks to Jayden Robins, Norm Lambersky and Shai Ashkenazi

Holocaust Education Week

In 1941 the Jewish Council of Prague collected and preserved the ritual items from the synagogues of Czechoslovakia, saving the items from certain Nazi destruction.  Among the items rescued were 1564 Torah Scrolls.  These Scrolls were hidden in an abandoned wooden synagogue until 1964 when they were purchased by a group in London, and the Memorial Scrolls Trust was born.

In honour of Holocaust Education Week, on Saturday November 12, 2016 at B’nai Shalom V’Tikvah at 10:00 am, Elaine Page the Canadian Director of the Trust will share the amazing and inspiring story of the Scrolls.  This is a multi-media event, which includes a haunting 1936 recording of a Czech congregation preparing for the High Holidays.

Please contact Ron King at king838@gmail.com if you are planning to attend.

B’nai Shalom V’tikvah is located in St. Pauls United Church, 65 Kings Cres, Ajax.
