Shabbat & Holiday Services

Our Shabbat and holiday services are led by a combination of our rabbi and congregation members. Each gathering includes prayer, song and a lively, participatory study session that invites questions, conversation and shared learning. Join us twice monthly on Saturday mornings, in person or via Zoom.

Where is Beth Zion Congregation located?

We are located at 144 King St E and serve the Jewish community throughout Durham Region.

Is Beth Zion an egalitarian congregation?

Yes. All genders of Jewish adults are counted in the minyan and participate equally in services, Torah readings, leadership and ritual honours.

Are interfaith families welcome?

Absolutely. We warmly welcome interfaith families and individuals exploring Jewish life.

Do I need to be a member to attend services?

Visitors are welcome. Please contact us in advance so we can greet you and provide the details you need.

How often are services held?

Twice monthly on Saturday mornings, in person and via Zoom.

Is your congregation affiliated?

Beth Zion is unaffiliated and egalitarian.

Do you offer High Holy Day services?

Yes. We hold High Holy Day services and other major Jewish holiday observances.
