Hebrew School

A welcoming place for Jewish learning.

Our Hebrew School program is a partnership between Beth Zion and the B’nai Shalom V’Tikvah Reform Congregation in Ajax. Our partnership has remained strong for over 18 years.

Our Hebrew School gives children a supportive place to explore Jewish traditions, build friendships and develop pride in their Jewish identity.

Classes combine learning with creativity, discussion and celebration. Lessons are designed to be engaging, age-appropriate and meaningful.

What ages can attend Hebrew School?

Our Hebrew School welcomes school-age children. Contact us so we can discuss the most appropriate placement for your child.

Do children need prior Hebrew knowledge?

No. Students at all levels are welcome, including complete beginners.

Is Hebrew School required for B’nai Mitzvah preparation?

Hebrew education helps children build the skills and knowledge needed for B’nai Mitzvah preparation. Contact us to discuss expectations, timing and an appropriate learning plan.

Do Hebrew School families need to be synagogue members?

Yes. All of our Hebrew School students belong to either Beth Zion or B’nai Shalom V’Tikvah. Contact us about our trial first-year membership.

What makes Beth Zion’s program distinctive?

How does inclusion shape the program?
