At Beth Zion, worship is not something that simply happens in front of you. Our services make room for prayer, song, reflection and conversation. Rabbi Israel Man and members of the congregation share leadership, creating a service that feels both grounded and personal.
A lively study session is part of each Shabbat gathering. Different interpretations are welcomed, questions are encouraged and no previous knowledge is required.
You are welcome to listen quietly, follow along, join the discussion or take a more active role. Participation is always invited—never demanded.

We believe Jewish community becomes stronger when every person can contribute. People of every gender are welcomed equally into religious participation and leadership.
- Jewish adults aged 13 and older may be counted in a minyan.
- Jewish adults aged 13 and older may be called to the Torah for an Aliyah.
- Religious honours and leadership opportunities are open to everyone.
- Seating is mixed unless otherwise indicated.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often are Shabbat services held?
Services are held twice monthly on Saturday mornings. Contact us or consult the congregation calendar to confirm upcoming dates.
Are services led by the Rabbi?
Most services are led by Rabbi Man however we also have opportunities for members of the congregation to lead if they are interested. This shared leadership is an important part of our participatory community.
Can I attend online?
Yes. Shabbat services may be joined in person or through Zoom. Please contact us in advance for access details.
Do I need to know Hebrew?
No. You are welcome regardless of your familiarity with Hebrew, the prayers or the service. Participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
Can someone who is not Jewish attend?
Yes. Guests and people from a variety of backgrounds are welcome. Some ritual honours are reserved for Jewish participants.
What should I wear?
Choose respectful, comfortable clothing appropriate for a place of worship. If you are unsure, contact us before your visit and we will be happy to help.
